Memorial Day Message 2017

Do you remember the times when you would see someone crossing a store parking lot, wearing one of those small, red poppies traditionally distributed by war veterans and sometimes assisted by local JROTC cadets for Memorial Day? It was a common sight during my youth and later adolescent life, but over the years, the poppies seemed to disappear as we Americans grew more nonchalant about combat deaths.
Memorial Day is the day we think of and honor the men and women who fought in conflicts for our and other’s freedom. They were people who wore the uniform of our nation and who were killed in the effort to rid the world of the ills of tyranny, authoritarian governments, and Islamic extremism.
To remember and honor the dead is an exquisite thought and a noble goal, but the question I present to the reader is: Do we really care? Has not America become blasé about almost everything? Do not too many people take our privileges and liberties for granted and appear more willing to negotiate them away? How do we explain to our war dead that we have taken their sacrifice for granted?
When we have politicians, who are all too eager to put themselves and their party first and thereby undermine the welfare of the people and the Constitution, we have betrayed the trust of our war dead. When we allow America to be invaded across our permeable borders, are we not betraying the trust of our war dead?  When we allow politicians to cover-up the truth about an attack on the mission in Benghazi are we not betraying the war dead? When politicians allow law enforcement and municipalities to ignore federal immigration law, are we not betraying the trust of our war dead?
It is this blogger’s opinion; many in America, to include politicians and institutions have broken faith with our war dead. We have, for the most part forgotten them, and they are not resting in peace. Their deaths should haunt us forever.
Dare I cease this diatribe on conscience? I could go on but choose to close with these hollowed words:
Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place…We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields...”

Undesirable Frame of Reference; Empathy and Islamic Extremism

It has been suggested by some liberals that Americans should display compassion towards ISIS and other Islamic extremist groups. Compassion and ISIS are two words most people do not combine in a single sentence. ISIS formed due to a power vacuum left in the Middle East, thanks in part to a massive failure of the Obama Administration. Has my memory failed me or is ISIS (ISL, Levant, Islamic State) or Al Qaeda, or Boko Haram… not really interested in peace. Have these and other radical terrorist organizations continually demonstrated they are not groups of peace. Do you really expect these miscreants to sit around a campfire and sing kumbaya?

There are a few terrorist cells around the world who have a potential goal where peace could be achieved, but Islamic extremists are all about murdering everyone in its swath until the entire globe is under its thumb. ISIS and its counterparts do not give nor show compassion to anyone they encounter, even fellow Muslims who do not follow Sharia law.

Do they not capture and transform both women and children into sex slaves in order to raise money for its cause, while pitilessly slaughtering men in some of the most shocking methods used since the days of Ivan the Terrible. Despite all of this, there are still some left-wing idealists and nut cases who want compassion for ISIS. In this Retired Army Officer’s opinion, compassion is the last thing these reprobates deserve. They deserve extermination like the cockroaches they most resemble.

The Why and Who of The War

Is defiance and hostility displayed by antagonists toward law enforcement the new norm? By all appearances, it appears to be the new norm. If so, why the norm and is there a who that instigated/inspired it?

Some authorities say the increase in the attacks can be traced to 1) The Michal Brown Shooting (justified as it was) in Ferguson, Missouri. 2) An inflammatory speech given by Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan during the summer of 2015. Farrakhan incited a well-attended venue at a church in Miami and a national following of adherents with words of provocation;

Death is sweeter than to continue to live and bury our children, while white folks give the killer hamburgers...  than watching us slaughter each other, to the joy of a 400-year-old enemy...The Quran teaches persecution is worse than slaughter. ..Retaliation is prescribed in matters of the slain...Retaliation is a prescription from God, to calm the breast of those whose children have been slain...if the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us...Stalk them and kill them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling.”

3) The anti-police sentiment may have been inadvertently fueled by the Obama administration and its Eric Holder/Loretta Lynch-led Justice Department, as well as radical movements within the U.S. such as Black Lives Matter.

In summation, bushwhacking-style attacks on Uniformed Law Enforcement Officers will likely continue. From what we see in the media, and hear from authoritative sources the disturbing cycle of attacks has not relented. Instead of condemning the violence unconditionally, too many on the left gloss over the ugly truth for reasons of Political Correctness. It is as if the forces of evil have declared war on Peace Officers, and their lives no longer matter. I am here to tell you “Blue Lives Matter” more than any adversarial sociopathic malcontent's life.

The Always Mother and The Memories of Mother

Have you ever pondered why we return to our mother during the course of our life? As small children, did we not hide behind her skirt when fearful or when we found ourselves in the presence of unfamiliar persons? Did we not run to her and cry when we fell-down? And every time this happened, was she not there to give comfort, to bandage our scraps or soothe our hurt feelings? Even as we mature in life we find ourselves constantly returning to the feeling of security and warm and unconditional love that only a person born of her own flesh can offer. Amidst the persistently worrying doubts we suffer in our early adult lives, not knowing for sure whether we are ready to encounter a world in which there are seldom easy answers; amongst the intricacies of associations, education, employment, and everyday life, we keep returning to the genuine article; the consolation of our mother.

Our fathers teach us the virtues of toil and diligence. Mothers, who are equally hard working, teach us the prominence of cultivating our corporeal and spiritual bodies. If we are Christians, we more than likely inherited our faith from her.

For those blessed with a good mother, is it not right and proper that we honor her without whom we would not enjoy the blessing of life? Now I ask; are mothers not so much more than that? Are not the memories of our mother in part, one’s greatest inheritance?

For those whose mother still lives, enjoy her while she is with you. Expect to mourn and grieve as most of us do when mother passes. Hopefully, life has prepared you for that moment. Remember, while she is no longer with us in the flesh, the gift of her spirit is lifelong. While the noble mom was here on earth, though sometimes weary, she never wavered, until God said her work was done. The good and righteous mom will one day, if not already, be granted the wings of a dove; Imagine her lovingly as she takes flight to Heaven’s gate to await her progenies arrival. What a day of rejoicing that will be!

"Maid of Orleans" Burned Again Amidst Cheers of Fools

Like Joan of Arc, all the forces of hell and a duped populous were lined up against Marine Le Pen. I argue it was a clear choice between electing Le Pen or watching France and eventually all of Europe become Islamic. I'm not sure what it is going to take for the West to wake up. France and Europe in general are constantly on DEFCON 4 and are in continuous danger of Islamic extremist acts of violence from its own Muslim population. The share of the population which is Muslim is increasing significantly and Muslims appear more comfortable expanding their intransigent and cultural influence by any means necessary. And the French authorities seem to not only be tolerable with this, but pander to their every hue and cry. If this isn't betrayal and capitulation, I don't know what is.

If mass immigration continues, France, and eventually all Western nations to include America, becomes Islamic. If that happens, everything our civilization has created, including our liberties, our prosperity and our culture fade into the annals of history. You cannot conciliate Islam or make-believe you don't know where this is all going. France needed Marine Le Pen. The West needs spearheads of a similar mold to Marine LePen and Donald Trump. They need these type leaders now.

Time For A New Policy

In America and other nations in the West, most often someone must break the law before they can be arrested. Given the tactics of terrorists and anarchists here and abroad is this still wise? It might be worth deliberating whether to invoke a policy of pre-emption, which is sometimes employed when an enemy nation appears to be an imminent threat. If that is an option to prevent death and destruction from adversarial nation states, why can't we impose something similar for persons who have violent criminal records and who openly state or advocate, that he/she/they intend to kill, injure and/or destroy property?

Western averseness to adapt such a practice shows there is one force more powerful than law enforcement or public safety officers. It is the PC watch or police. These are somebodies who care more about how they feel than for the innocent people killed and/or maimed in our streets by miscreants, reprobates, militants and other criminal lowlifes.

Do not innocents have the right to be protected from militant radicals/activists who so often claim to be doing God's work? With ongoing inquiries/investigations by DHS into radical terrorists in every state, it's long past time to get them before they get any more of us. If enough red flags are raised by criminals and adversaries of the state, does it not warrant action(s)?
