Spiritual Takeaway from Coronavirus

In an unprecedented situation, the world has stopped moving. I believe this is a time of revival for our nation and our world. In the quiet hours, pray for your friends and neighbors. Reach out to people who are afraid and tell them about Jesus’s promise of peace. He is the only One who can reach out His hand and say to the storm, “Peace. Be still.” He is the only one who reaches out to us and says, “Be still and know that I am God.”

That’s how much God loves us.  He will either calm the storm … or He will calm us. Either way, with Him we are safe. For those who have faith in God, remember He will drive us through this season. And He will always get us safely home.

Here are some other thoughts, better yet suggestions while you’re self-quarantined at home? Call family and tell them you love them. Contact friends you’ve lost touch with and chat for a while. Commit to memory Scripture. Read the Bible. And of course, there’s always a good book and a cup of coffee.

The following is a message from a friend of mine that should speak to all who seek calm during the present worldwide epidemiologic storm: “Forty days, forty nights in the Ark, Noah's family was confined in a boat. There were no windows, no balconies, no terraces, no words of hope, no internet, no phone, no TV, no YouTube, Facebook or Netflix. They only heard the rain. They spent their time praying, loving each other and caring for the animals. God the father took care of them as Noah was a man of faith and obeyed His word.” Remember, even though an ocean of viruses is out there, and life seems like a violent tempest, our God is watching over us! Do not be afraid! Be faithful to Him and wait patiently. The rain will stop, a rainbow will appear, the sun will shine again, and all be well.
