Can You Imagine

Prior to the crucifixion, we can only imagine the infinite beauty of Our Lord, the magnificence of His physique and the radiance of His Hallowed Face, where the aesthetic tenets of the universe reside. The grace of gesticulations, the grace of His bearing, the temperance of His personal conduct and virtuousness must have put forth a strong attraction. When He spoke, who could imagine the tone of His voice, its intonations and unique capacity of verbalism or expression? When nailed to the cross was not His body marred? Was He suddenly without beauty? Did His wounds continue seeping His life blood? This extraordinary victim was the personification of naiveté and innocence itself. He had never sinned. He was the personification of virtue. He never had the need to make up for anything, but nonetheless, did so without measure. Can you imagine what it would be like to walk by His side? Cen you imagine what your eyes would see when His face is before you, when you are surrounded by His glory, what your heart will feel? Will you dance for your Jesus or in awe of Him be still? Will you stand in His presence or to your knees, will you fall? Will you sing hallelujah? Will you be able to speak at all? As for me, I can only in wonderment imagine.
