Whatever he wants,
regardless of what the Constitution, Congress, the Courts, or the public has to
say about it, he will get. His lawlessness knows no bounds, for he is the law.
Or so he thinks, therefore he is. His pen is mightier than the scales of
justice, thus his actions express lawlessness.
Using his medium of choice, President Obama
this week announced with flowing tears a number of “Executive Actions” aimed at
restricting gun sales and ownership in the United States. President justified his
autarchic policy proclamations on a need to bypass an “ineffectual” Congress. To
some extent I reluctantly agree that our Congress is largely ineffectual and
fails in its role as a legislative branch of government. But then I digress.
Obama’s teary-eyed efforts to rally supporters
to his gun-control agenda every time a publicized mass-shooting occurs, has
become “something of broken a record.” While the latest proposals more
appropriately subterfuges appear on the surface to be largely benign, we had
best take them seriously. Caution is sometimes the better part of valor. With
this in mind, let us remember the old adage and proceed with vigilance, “the devil
is in the details”; there is a relevant consequence to said aphorism – “it’s
often not what’s on the lines that count; it’s what’s between the lines that
matters most.”
